This day-long program will prepare your child with the skills needed for babysitting roles. This includes knowing how to act and thrive when left alone at home, how to prevent and manage unsafe scenarios, and how to interpret and manage child behaviors and interests. We’ll expose group members to basic first aid and also including choking rescue and CPR training. The course is guided by an occupational therapist + the Safe Sitter curriculum. A completion certificate is granted at the end of the class. The class is intended for kids ages 11 and above - boys and girls are both welcome.
Included in the workshop is a 2-hour “intern experience” at Clover Clubhouse, where group members are matched with a child aged 3+ to play and practice babysitting and play, with supervision. This 2-hour experience in South Boston occurs same day as workshop, and the optional 2-hour experience will occur at a future date for Charlestown offerings (multiple sessions available in future).
