This program will prepare your child with the skills needed for babysitting roles. This includes knowing how to act and thrive when left alone at home, how to prevent and manage unsafe scenarios, and how to interpret and manage child behaviors and interests. We’ll expose group members to basic first aid and also including choking rescue and CPR training. The course is guided by an occupational therapist + the Safe Sitter curriculum, which is a non-profit founded in Boston. A babysitter certification is granted at the end of the class. The class is intended for kids ages 8 and above - boys and girls are both welcome.
Included in the workshop is an “intern experience” at Clover Clubhouse in Southie, where group members are matched with a child aged 3+ to play and practice babysitting and play, with supervision. If this experience isn’t available on your program date, future sessions will be available, outside of the private event and communicated via email.
